Marcella “Sally” Mary Adelmeyer (nee Ensenbach) age 96, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Mayville.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sally will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville with Rev. Fr. Ed Kornath presiding. A visitation for Sally will be held at church on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow the service at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Mayville.
Marcella was born on March 10, 1929, to Oscar and Selma (nee Engmann) Ensenbach in the town of Wayne.
Marcella attended Mullen Grade School in the town of Wayne. She later attended school in Theresa. Sally never had the opportunity to attend high school but eventually went on to get her GED, which she was very proud of.
Sally was united in marriage to Louis “Okie” Adelmeyer on September 11, 1948, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa.
Sally worked at Purity Cheese Company in Mayville and later went on to work at the local grocery stores in Mayville as well as Seneca Canning Factory. She also enjoyed selling Avon products. Sally greatly enjoyed driving school bus for the Mayville school district.
Sally enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She looked forward to babysitting for them. Sally loved her pet cats and delighted in going on casino bus trips with her husband and trips to northern Wisconsin.
Marcella is survived by her children: Jean (Joel) Lepple of Beaver Dam and Dennis (Connie) Adelmeyer of Mayville; her six grandchildren: Douglas (Jessica) Adelmeyer of Horicon, Brent (Denise) Lepple of Beaver Dam, Chad (Faith) Adelmeyer of Fond du Lac, Craig (Delight) Lepple of Beaver Dam, Christine (Russ) Lindner of Fall River, and Ashley (Adam) Hansen of Cary, IL; her twelve great-grandchildren: Hope, Kaleb, Carter, and Avari Adelmeyer, Ethan, Mackinsey, Caden, and Coye Lepple, Hailey and Brinley Lindner, and Adeline and Aiden Hansen. Marcella is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Louis in 2024; her mother and father-in- law Louis Sr. and Laura Adelmeyer; her brothers and sisters-in-law Alphonse (Florence) Adelmeyer, Agnes (Roman) Roggenbauer, Armond (Monica) Adelmeyer, Leander (Meta) Adelmeyer, Marion (Ervin) Wuenne, Anthony (Eleanor) Adelmeyer, Alois (Helen) Adelmeyer, Lucille (Eric) Seiler, Rose (Adelbert) Marion, Elroy Adelmeyer, Pearl (John) Gonzales, Russel (Mary Jane) Adelmeyer, Roger (Edith) Adelmeyer, and Robert (Margie) Adelmeyer.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Prairie Ridge for the care and support shown to Sally and her family during her stay. Also, a heartfelt thank you to Generations Hospice Care.

I had the pleasure of meeting Sally through my dil her granddaughter…Ashley Hansen. She was a beautiful lady filled with smiles. I feel blessed to have known her. May she rest in peace in the arms of Jesus. Also happy to be reunited with her husband Okie. ☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️
