Margaret Ruth was born on May 4, 1941 in Clinton, Iowa to Jerry and Ruth (Chamberlain) Murphy. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Clinton in 1959. After high school she worked at Clinton Corn Processing. In 1964 she moved to Juneau, Wisconsin, later settling in Beaver Dam. Margaret’s main role in life was being the supportive and caring mother, especially to her one-of-a-kind daughter, Anne. She worked at the Dodge County Commission on Aging before successfully starting Margaret Ihrke and Associates which was a non-medical homecare service for seniors whom needed a little extra help to be able to thrive in their homes. Her mission in providing this service to people was so important to her, as she knew one day, she would no longer be able to be the caretaker for her daughter. While juggling a career and family, Margaret loved to socialize throughout the community. She was active with the Red Cross and was a volunteer with meals-on-wheels. If she ever took time for herself, it would be to travel. Margaret really enjoyed trips to Door County and especially to Ireland.
Margaret will be missed by her children, Sarah Wieneke of Waukesha, Anne Wieneke of Jefferson, and Matthew (Andrea) Wieneke of Juneau; grandchildren, Nolan and Charlee; brother Richard (Donna) Murphy and sister Jeanne Ford; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made in Margaret R. Ihrke’s name to Special Olympics Wisconsin.
