Marie L. VanHoosen, age 90, of Horicon, died Monday, March 2, 2009 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Marie will be held at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at the church on Tuesday, beginning at 3:00 PM. Rev. Daniel Seehafer will officiate. Burial will follow at Stone Cemetery in the Town of Burnett, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Marie Louise Storts was born on October 3, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Everett and Elsie (Gierach) Storts. On December 15, 1945, she was united in marriage with Grant VanHoosen in San Francisco, California. Marie worked at Weyenberg Shoe Company and was a long-time member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon where she had been active in the Ladies Guild.
Survivors include her half sister, Ruth Springer of Albany, OR, two nieces, Doris (Russ) Kerr of Horicon and Eileen Witte of Burnett, five great nephews and nieces, Steve (Luann) Bogenschneider of Horicon, Dale (Tania) Bogenschneider of Charlotte, NC, Larry (Nancy) Bogenschneider of Mayville, Dianne Witte of Burnett and Debbie (Terry) Bauer of Burnett, and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Mark VanHoosen, her aunt and uncle, William and Louise Klemp, a brother, Richard Hendrickson and a sister, Ione Storts.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Marie L. VanHoosen”s name to St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon.
