Marion Soldner, 91 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Hope Health and Rehab Center in Lomira, WI. Marion was born September 4, 1932, the daughter of George and Victoria (Schmidt) Ferstl of Westford Township, Dodge County, WI. She married Calvin “Cal” Soldner in 1951 They lived and raised their family on the Ferstl/Soldner farm until moving to Beaver Dam in 2019. Marion remained in Beaver Dam after the death of her husband in 2020. She moved to Hope Senior Living in Lomira in 2023.
After raising her family, she worked for over 20 years at Fleet Farm in Beaver Dam until retirement. Marion was a wonderful cook and baker. One could expect to be served fresh vegetables from her garden and there were always requests for her pasta salad for family functions. Annual camping trips made fond memories for family & friends, and gatherings were made special by her mixing one of the best brandy old fashion sweets around. Marion liked crocheting and other crafts until arthritis limited those activities and was an avid reader in later years.
Marion is survived by four children: daughters Darlene (Thom) Hoch of Oregon and Sharon “Cher” (Christopher) Odya of Arizona; sons Dennis (Laura) of South Dakota, and Steven (Annette) of Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Eunice (Ralph) Whiting; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Eleanor (John) Linde and Margaret (Leonard) Hopp, and brother Harold.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Hope Senior Living, Health and Rehab for their caring and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to: Hope Senior Living Activities or the charity of your choice.
There will be a memorial gathering for Marion at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam on March 18, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Will Arnold officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Peter Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

To the Soldner family..Our condolences to all. Marion was a wonderful person.I liked going to Fleet Farm to see her smiling face. Donnie remembers when they were kids ,she took him to school on her bike..As years went along, us grownups had some awesome house parties and went to Fall River dancing. Great times.
