Marjorie Margie A. Mason

Marjorie “Margie” A. Mason, 56, of Waupun made peace with her diagnosis of bile duct cancer and peacefully passed away after a courageous battle on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Randolph Health Services, the former Continental Manor in Randolph. A memorial gathering will be held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 12 p.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life service at 3 p.m. officiated by Chaplin Dennis Richards. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Fox Lake. Marjorie Ann was born the daughter of Robert L. and Betty A. (Alderden) Mason on August 6, 1960 in Beaver Dam. She had been employed at Silgan Container in Waupun from 1997 – 2015 and prior she had been employed with Kolpin Manufacturing in Fox Lake for 18 years. Margie was a very talented and imaginative person. She loved to quilt, knit, sew and do a variety of crafts. While she was undergoing chemotherapy, she kept busy knitting hats and sewing fleece hats for other chemo patients who had lost their hair. She was also the family historian and assembled the family tree genealogy for both sides of the family. Margie will be remembered as a very generous, caring and loving person and a very loyal friend. Margie will be deeply missed by her brother Gregory Mason of Racine; her sister Deborah (Doug) Smedema of Randolph; her nephew Ryan (Michele) Smedema and their sons: Clayton and Bryce of Pardeeville; her niece Miranda Smedema of Beaver Dam; stepmother Robyn Mason of Sauk City and special friend Dan Vossekuil of Waupun. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Betty A. Mason-Rahn; her father Robert L. Mason; stepfather Marvin Rahn; her nephew Logan Smedema; aunt Audrey Fietz and uncles: James Alderden, Gerald Mason, George Mischler, James Wood, John Fietz, Clifford Bryden and Gerald Van Dyke. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial fund in Marjorie’s name. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Hei, all the oncology nurses and staff at the Beaver Dam Hospital for the past 17 months of ongoing care and treatments she received. Your loving care and compassion meant so much to Margie and all of us.
