Marlene Hertha Steinbach, age 88, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Mayville on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
Funeral Services for Marlene will take place on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River Church) in Mayville at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Douglas Zahner officiating. A visitation for Marlene will be held at church on Monday, October 7, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Hochheim Cemetery in the Town of Herman.
Marlene was born the daughter of Walter and Hilda (Genger) Polster on October 26, 1935, in Ashippun. She was a graduate of Mayville High School and attended 2 years of nursing school. Marlene was united in marriage to Ronald W. Steinbach on December 26, 1956, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. The couple was blessed with 67 years of marriage.
Marlene worked and later retired from Lee Precision in Hartford. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River Church) and used her voice to glorify God by singing in the choir. Her faith and family were precious to Marlene. She enjoyed crocheting especially Christmas ornaments. She took great pride in her flower beds and always had the most beautiful flowers.
Marlene is survived by her husband Ronald; her children: Ronald P. (Etha) Steinbach of Glendale, AZ, Ken A. (Wendy) Steinbach of Brown Deer, WI, and Linda (Phillip) Pouzou of Richmond, VA; 3 grandchildren: Christopher (Jane) Pouzou, Kyle Pouzou, and Nathan (Leanne) Pouzou; siblings: Dorothy Steinbach of Iron Ridge, Joyce Miller of West Bend, and David (Michele) Polster of Mayville; sister-in-law Florence Polster of Rubicon. Marlene is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relative, and friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Floyd Polster.

Dearest Steinbach Family,
Remembering fondly the quiet and kind demeanor your Marlene (mom and wife) shared with me when I was a houseguest as a young kid and Linda’s classmate at St. John’s in Marysville, Ohio. Her homemade bread was my favorite, and I always felt welcome and was well fed. She exuded a gentle and serving Spirit.
I am sorry for your loss. May the many years of memories of her generous love for you, your Family, and friends ~ bring you peace and comfort today and always.
If I was in Wisconsin, I would attend her funeral and celebration of life. Anytime you may be in Columbus, Ohio please let me know and we can break bread and catch up.
