Martha Grace Christian, age 31, of Horicon passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016.Martha was born the daughter of Richard Christian and Kathy Knop on May 18, 1985 in Beaver Dam. Martha was a graduate of Horicon High School. She was a talented artist and excelled in advanced art courses in high school. She spent her summers during high school working at the Horicon Ice Cream Station and the Horicon Aquatic Center. Martha’s high-school classmates remember as friend that was kind to everyone and someone always willing to listen. Later Martha was accepted into the UW-Madison School of Fine Arts. She also had an interest in homeopathic remedies and natural medicine. She took courses in nutrition and health sciences at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee and Milwaukee Area Technical College. She spent a large portion of her time in Milwaukee working in the food service industry as a server, to include Cempazuchi’s on Brady Street where she formed long-lasting friendships. Martha will be remembered as a caring, funny and intelligent person. Martha had a memorable smile, one that will continue to keep those of us who met her smiling even in her absence. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, September 22 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville.Martha is survived by her mother- Kathy of Horicon. Her sisters- Anna (James) Garcia of Madison and Allison Christian of Madison. Her grandparents- Edward (Margaret) Knop of Horicon. Her niece- Eva of Madison. Further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Richard, her grandparents Richard and Eva Christian, and her step-father Brent Ellington.

Martha touched my life and will never forget her this was a total shock I will miss her she was a great friend to her family I send prayers and codolences

To Martha's family and friends, I know you all suffer a big loss. I worked with Martha years ago and we talked a lot outside of work and years after. She was an artist... in so many ways.
Martha, I realized that we never got to reschedule this last time we were supposed to meet. Then, we lost touch... much Love to you all.

We didn't know Martha very well, sadly. We did have conversations with her, laughed with her and experienced the beautiful smile that belonged to her and her gentle soul. She was a memorable person and we are so sorry for your family's loss. Wishing you strength.

Christian Family, Though I didn't know Martha it is obvious she touched many lives. I am sorry for your loss. God's word gives us comfort at Isa. 61:1,2 "binds up the broken-hearted" and "comforts all who mourn". Allow him to help you through this.

My deepest sympathies got out to all of Martha's family and friends. We always joked round about how old we thought our names were. We would make a point to talk to each other in our "old voices" and then we would have the biggest laugh together. I was always fond of Martha's incredible artistic talent, but more importantly I cherished her friendship in High school. I was happy to finally know another Martha my age & I will never forget her!

Martha was one of the kindest person I have known. She will be missed by soo many I remember her as a beautiful baby and trying to help retrieve bead from her nose. I will always cherish the fun we had as she grew into a beautiful young woman
