Services: Funeral service will take place on Thursday, Febuary 12 at 11 am at the Mayville United Methodist Church in Mayville, Wisconsin.
Visitation: Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Febuary 11 from 4 until 7 pm. at the Koepsell Funeral Home, in Mayville, Wisconsin and also on Thursday, Febuary 12 from 10 until 11 am at the church.
MAYVILLE – Marvin G. Spradau, 81, 334 Brookside Drive, Unit 2, Mayville, passed away on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, and on Thursday, Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Mayville United Methodist Church. The funeral service will folow on Thursday at the church. The Rev. Jane Haass will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery in Mayville.
Marvin was born on March 20, 1927 in Lomira, the son of Arnold and Ella (Klein) Spradau. On Oct. 7, 1950 he was united in marriage to Margie Petrich in Fond du Lac.
Marvin was a graduate of Lomira High School and Dairy Short Course, U.W. Madison. He was a licensed cheesemaker for Grande Cheese, retiring in 1992. He was member of Mayville United Methodist Church, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, a member of the Fond du Lac Musician Association Local 309 and the American Federation of Musicians. He was a member of the Syl Groeschl Band since 1969. Marvin was inducted into the World Concertina Hall of Fame in 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Margie; his children, Dawn (Don) Forster, Fond du Lac; Fern (Mike) Core, Waupun, Mark Spradau, Mayville, Wendy (Peter) Weinberger, LeRoy; sister-in-law, Dolores Spradau, Campbellsport; brother-in-law, Emil Haas of Florida; grandchildren, Nicholas, Joseph, John, Andrew, Gail, Christina, Jeremy, David, Daniel, Michael, Matthew, Kelly, Heidi, Maria, Isaac, Emily; step-grandchildren, Tammie, Missy, Cindi; 10 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends;
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
