Mary Ann LaPine-Schmidt

Mary Ann LaPine- Schmidt, age 64, of Horicon, Wisconsin passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center in Summit, Wisconsin.

In following the wishes of the family, a Celebration of Life for Mary Ann will be held at a later date.

Mary Ann was born the daughter of James and Marcella (Zimmerman) LaPine on March 21, 1959, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Stephen Schmidt on October 2, 2021, in Fond du Lac.

Mary Ann was a faithful member of the Church of Peace in Fond du Lac. She was a graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac.

Mary Ann was a gifted crafter and enjoyed making anything from flowers to ceramics. She enjoyed spending time in nature fishing with her family and was a drag racer at Kaukauna Speedway. Mary Ann was passionate about animals and was involved with the Humane Society and a member of the ASPCA.

Mary Ann will be missed by her loving husband, Stephen; children: Will (Amy) Lacharite, John (fiancée Cassie) Dettloff, Drew (Alena) Schmidt; grandchildren: Austyn (fiancée Emilie) Lacharite, Kobe (special friend, Vanessa) Lacharite, Gavin Lacharite, Todd (Tanya) Lookman, Cassie Lookman, Anya Schmidt, Rhea ten Bruggencate, Bowie Jo ten Bruggencate, Olivia Dettloff, Kolton Dettloff, and Peyton Detloff; great-grandchildren: Noah Lookman, Jaxon Lacharite; sister: Kathy LaPine Bozich. Mary Ann is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers: James LaPine and Dan LaPine.
