MaryAnn Lira, 65 years of W10234 Surfside Drive, Beaver Dam passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, Wisconsin.
Memorial service for MaryAnn will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Father John Schreiter officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam.
MaryAnn was born on September 19, 1943 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Erwin and Helen (Piliput) Cooley. She was an honors graduate of Cardinal Stritch University. She was united in marriage to Phillip Lira on May 5, 1963 in Franklin Park, IL.
MaryAnn was a dedicated and favored special education teacher at Lincoln Elementary School in Beaver Dam. She enjoyed her students and her friends greatly. MaryAnn also enjoyed reading and cooking and was a fine upstanding member of Alpha Xi Chapter Delta Kappa Gamma. She will be greatly missed by her family.
MaryAnn is survived by her husband of 45 years, Phil of Beaver Dam; her son, Jeff (Nora) Lira of Roanoke, Virginia; her daughter, Jackie (Randy) McDonnell of Oconomowoc; her seven grandchildren: Matthew, Trisha, Nay-Nay, Nanny, Kayla, Don and Sammi. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her father and mother-in-law: Phillip and Jessie Lira.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Beaver Dam Scholarship Foundation.
