Mary Ann Kreger Vesper of Waupun, Wisconsin passed away in her home on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
Mary was born on May 3, 1955 the daughter of Elwood E. and Edith M. (Washtock) Kreger. She graduated from St. Peter Catholic School and was a 1973 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. On February 21, 1976, she was married to David Eugene Vesper in Oglesby, IL. They were blessed with three children: Nichole, Michelle and Adam.
Mary was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 11 and the Military Order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary Unit 162. Mary loved art and music and was very talented in both. She enjoyed gardening, preserving and freezing the harvests, cooking and baking with all of her grandchildren and teaching them her skills. Mary was a very caring and kind hearted person always ready to help others. She was an avid animal lover, especially her beloved Schatzie, Rocket and Penny.
Mary will be deeply missed by her children: Nicole (Tom) Melaney, Michelle Vesper and Adam (Tanya) Vesper; grandchildren: Isiaha Vesper, Kalvin and James Melaney, Joel (fiancée Brianna Schwitzer) Arndt, Anthony, Jessica and Lindsay Vesper; great grandchildren: Attalie and Micah Vesper; mother Edith M. Kreger; sisters: Kay (John) Hackbarth and Victoria Pionke (Dean Guell); nephew ); nephews: Michael (Bridget) Pionke, Tom (Amy) Guell and Michael (Chelsea) Guell, niece Jennifer Pionke; grandniece Natalie Chrysler and grandnephew Wesson Chrysler; sister-in-law Louise Kreger, aunt Ramona Hansen. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Elwood E. Kreger; brother Gary P. Kreger, 5 infant sisters and 2 infant brothers, husband David E. Vesper, grandson Gibson Ruenger, grandparents Stanley and Mabel Washtock and Eugene and Jean Vesper, her uncle Donald Hanson and her aunt Audrey Washtock.
A memorial gathering for Mary will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until Noon at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at Noon with Father Will Arnold officiating.
