Mary Jane was born the daughter of Leonard and Rose (Schraufnagel) Weinberger on August 12, 1924, in the township of LeRoy. She was united in marriage to Clarence Luehring on February 19, 1944, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. Mary Jane was always a hard worker and worked various jobs over the years making many friends along the way. With her husband, Clarence, they ran Weinberger’s Tavern in LeRoy and after retirement, had a crafting business in their home. Mary Jane had also worked at West Bend Company for many years and at Everix Bakery in Fond du Lac. Mary Jane also volunteered her time and managed the Mayville Senior Center. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville.
Mary Jane had a way of spreading happiness to all that knew her. She will be fondly remembered being in her kitchen with the polka music playing, dancing and yodeling along, and bringing a smile to anyone who was fortunate enough to see her. Many will remember her beautiful smile. Her favorite things in life were cooking, playing cards with friends, and spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. She was a great baker, and her blitz torte was the best.
Mary Jane is survived by her sons, Fred Luehring of Mayville and Bill (Dianne) Luehring of Fond du Lac; her grandchildren, Angela (Justin) Luehring-Hintz of Fond du Lac and Jacob (Shaddai) Luehring of Madison; her great grandchildren, Liam, Rune, and Ansel. She is further survived by nieces, in-laws, other relatives, and friends.
Mary Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Rose Weinberger; her husband, Clarence; two brothers, David and Alfred ‘Sonny’ Weinberger; one sister, Nyla Rose ‘Toodles’ Jelinski; and great grandson, Finn Hintz.
