Dear Bill, Vicki and Tom: I was saddened by the news of Mary Lane''s passing. Even though I was unable to attend her services, I offer you my sincere condolences. I just wanted to let you know how much Mary Lane meant to me when I was growing up. The Lysser home was sort of a refuge to me in the "storm." Mary Lane was always there to offer a kleenex or a loving hug. She taught me how to trust and would build my confidence by giving me chores and then praise me for my accomplishments...even when I would run to Piggly Wiggly for her and bring her back regular sugar instead of powdered sugar and cabbage instead of lettuce. I would enjoy cleaning for her, even raking her shag carpet in the living room so the nap was perfect. She was so sophisticated to me as a young child, always dressed to perfection. Imagine my surprise as a 14 year old girl being able to sew a dress for Mary Lane and she thought it was perfect. I still remember that peach dress with the flair skirt at the bottom. Mary Lane and Bill would let me mow their big back yard with the riding mower. I always thought that was pretty neat! She taught me how to wrap a present with perfect corners and I would always love to see your Christmas tree. It was a work of art! Most of all, she was so kind and giving. Mary Lane was such an influence to me as a young child and she helped shape me into the woman I am today. I will always cherish her memory in my heart. God bless. Sally Damsgard (Dischler)

Dear Vikki, I''ve been staring at this picture of your mom-remembering the times we spent at your house together and how beautiful she was...and a working mom...what a trailblazer!! I''m thinking of you and your family and wanted you to know you''re in my thoughts and prayers-losing a mother is never easy, no matter the age. I''m thinking of your dad at this time too. May you draw stength from each other. Cindi and family

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO ALL OF MARY LANE''S FAMILY. MARY LANE WAS ALWAYS ONE OF MY FATHER''S (JIM DRIVER) FAVORITE PEOPLE! ''A BRIGHT SPOT'' HE WOULD SAY WHENEVER HE SAW HER ...HE WORKED WITH HER THROUGH THE PHONE COMPANY AND KNEW HER SOCIALLY AS WELL. I ALSO GOT TO KNOW HER WHILE I WAS AT THE COMPANY AND WAS ALWAYS AMAZED BY HER BECAUSE SHE WAS ALWAYS SO HAPPY AND UPBEAT....AND BURSTING WITH A TON OF ENERGY! SHE LEAVES BEHIND VERY FOND MEMORIES FOR US AND I KNOW SHE WILL BE DEEPLY MISSED.

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Mary Lane. I feel very privileged to have worked for her and been friends with her. When Mary Lane was President of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, I was the secretary. We went to many meetings together and worked on Cheese Days together. I really enjoyed her company, her never-ending energy and her positive attitude towards life. She will definitely be remembered for "promoting Monroe," and being a very genuine and giving person. I will miss her...but I know she is in God''s loving care.
