Mary Terese Wondra, age 91, of LeRoy, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at SSM Health Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy with Rev. Fr. Mark Brandl presiding. A visitation for Mary will be held at church on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Following the service, interment will take place at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in LeRoy.
Mary was born on February 2, 1935, in Oshkosh to Joseph and Clara (Bauer) Grable. She was united in marriage to Edward J. Wondra on May 5, 1954, in Oshkosh. Together the two farmed for many years in the town of LeRoy.
Mary was a faithful and active member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy. She was a member of Christian Women, St. Andrew’s Women Card Group, and made many rosaries and quilt tops, and crocheted beautiful afghans for family and friends. She loved to watch birds, enjoyed growing flowers, and loved cats.
Above all, Mary cherished her family dearly and treasured the memories she created with them.
Mary is survived by her children: Anne (Michael Robichaud) Wondra of Oshkosh, Dennis Wondra of LeRoy, Richard (Sandra) Wondra of LeRoy, Lee (Tami) Wondra of LeRoy, John Wondra of Mayville, and Patrick (Gina) Wondra of Oakfield; her son-in-law Brian Edwards of Brownsville; her daughter-in-law Nona Wondra of LeRoy; her grandchildren: Matthew, Chad, Bryan, Nathan, Austin, Brianna, Angie, Mandy, Todd, Nich, Chelse, Cherie, and David. Mary is further survived and dearly missed by her great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward; daughter Laura; and son Daniel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.
