Services: A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mayville, WI for Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack officiating. . Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery, Mayville , graveside military rites will be conducted by Theresa American Legion Post # 270.
Visitation: A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 10th from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville and also on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Merle A. Steger, 81 years old, of 319 Dayton St., Mayville, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family..

Merle was born the son of Lawrence & Loretta (Steger) Steger on May 5, 1928 in Theresa, WI. Merle was united in marriage to Anita Neumeyer on October 21, 1950 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Theresa. He was employed at Maysteel Corp., & Sure Fire of Mayville, and retired from Mayville Metal as a manufacturing supervisor after 22 years. During his retirement he was a Dodge County Pioneer route driver for 20 years.
Merle was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Mayville , charter member of the Knights of Columbus, was a member of the Mayville Golf Club & Mayville Metal Retirees, & Theresa American Legion Post # 270. Merle was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in the 2nd Armored Div., 41st Armored Infantry Battalion stationed in Germany.
Merle is survived by his wife Anita,children – Michael (Jane) Steger of Eden, Margo (Bob) Francis of Maryland, Mitchell Steger of Mayville; brother Clarence (Betty) Steger of Mayville; 2 grandchildren Sydney & Daniel, nieces & nephews other relatives & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lawrence Jr. (Sonny), sister Betty Bandle & infant brother Kenneth Steger.
Memorials: In lieu of memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church or St. Agnes Hospice.
