Merlin A. Metzger, age 83, of Juneau, died on Friday, January 23, 2009 at Clearview Nursing Home.
The visitation for Merlin will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Tuesday at 11:30 AM with Fr. Michael Petrie officiating. Burial will be at St. Isadore Cemetery, Clyman, Wisconsin.
Merlin Anthony Metzger was born on May 24, 1925 in Clyman, Wisconsin to Arthur and Rosalie (Thoma) Metzger. On November 16, 1957, he was united in marriage with Betty Hundt in Juneau. He lived in the Juneau area all of his life. Merlin owned and operated “Merl”s Fix it Shop” in Juneau repairing small engines for many years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Merlin is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Metzger, Juneau, his son, Mike (Karen) Metzger, Phoenix, AZ, a granddaughter, Erica Metzger, Phoenix, AZ, a brother, Jerry Metzger, Beaver Dam, a sister, Jean Metzger, Beaver Dam, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Blanche Juettner.
The family would like to thank Hillside Hospice in Beaver Dam for all of their compassionate care that they gave to Merlin.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Merlin”s name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Horicon, WI.
