Michael R. Haase, 64, of Juneau passed away at his home on Thursday, January 11, 2024 surrounded by his family after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Michael was born on October 31, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Beaver Dam to Richard and Lorna (Gennerman) Haase. He was a graduate of Dodgeland High School. Mike was employed as a journeyman electrician for 36 years with Sensient Flavors in Juneau, 23 years with Beaver Blacksmith, five years with Kraft, and five years with Create-A-Pack Foods.

In his early days, Mike fixed and painted cars in his free time. He enjoyed working with his 1931 Southbend lathe and making car panels with his custom made bead roller for race cars in the Dodge County area. Later in life, Mike enjoyed woodworking and home remodeling projects. He enjoyed his many trips to Vegas with his good friends Butch, Dan and Mark. Mike loved being “Papa” to his grandson Breslin.

Mike is survived by the love of his life Michelle Hummelmeier of Juneau; children: Lindsey Hummelmeier of Beaver Dam and Adam Hummelmeier (Cassidy Sadowski) of Waupun; grandson Breslin; parents: Richard and Lorna Haase of Juneau; siblings: Greg Haase of Juneau, Jeff (JoDee) Haase of Beaver Dam, and Sue (John) Koller of Charlotte, NC; his in-laws: David and Karen Maleck of Beaver Dam; brother-in-law Jason (Misha) Payant of Beaver Dam; sister-in-law Alissa (Chad) Rosenow of Oconomowoc; 10 nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews; and special friends: Dan Parrish and Jim Selchert.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Walter and Marie Haase and Edwin and Esther Gennerman and his special friend Butch Ptaschinski.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Beaver Dam American Legion, 300 Beichl Ave., Beaver Dam. A private family funeral service will also take place.

We will miss Mike, I always enjoyed seeing his big smile and laughter.
He was a pleasure to be around, easy going, and seeming to be in control. His dedication & hard work ethic to getting things accomplished will be missed. We so sorry for your loss and pray that the family has comfort in remembering the joy Mike brought during his life. We apologized as we won't be able to attend the visitation due to planned travel commitment but we keep the family in our prayers.
