Visitation: Visitation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at St Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, WI.
Muriel A. Schuster, 83 years, of Beaver Dam passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Hillside Manor.
Funeral Services for Muriel will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with Rev. Paul C. Stratman officiating. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, Feb. 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the township of Trenton, Wisconsin.
Muriel Alberta was born the daughter of Albert and Eva (Ruenger) Schmidt on November 21, 1926 in Green Lake, Wisconsin. She attended St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran School and graduated in 1944 from Beaver Dam High School.
Muriel was united in marriage to Lorence A. Schuster on September 5, 1947 at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam by Pastor Kirst.
Muriel was a faithful member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Her faith was a very important part of her life, as she had been active in the Ladies Aid, Mission Aid, Friendship League and the OWLS of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed volunteering as a mentor after school with children and volunteering as a reader and writer for nursing home residents.
Muriel was employed at the military shell plant in Beaver Dam during WWII and then Wisconsin Telephone for about 10 years. After her children were raised she then was employed as a school secretary for the Beaver Dam School District for about 10 years.
She enjoyed her family, camping, boating, bowling, reading, sewing and gardening.
Muriel is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Lorence Schuster of Beaver Dam; daughter Mary Jo (Arthur) Hayes of Swansboro, NC; son David (Lynn) Schuster of Beaver Dam, WI; daughter Amy (Merlin Jr.) Norenberg of Deming, NM; son Tobin (Susie) Schuster of Menomonee Falls, WI; daughter-in-law, Karen (Bud) Sitton of Round Lake Beach, IL; sister Violet Schmidt of Beaver Dam, WI; brother Lawrence (Phyllis) Schmidt of Pardeeville, WI; sister Alberta (Loren) Ellis of Lake Havasau City, AZ; sister-in-law Mary Schmidt of Fond du Lac, WI; sister-in-law, Florence Hozig of Sauk City, WI; brother-in-law, Raymond (Thelma) Schuster of Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law Carol (Bill) Abel of Beaver Dam, WI; her grandchildren: Sheri Clay, Timothy (Rowina) Schuster, Michael Schuster, Jeremy Schuster (Jane-fiance`) Michelle (Jeff) Diggs, Carrie (Brad) Mercer, Charles (Tammy) Schuster, Curtis Schuster, Nick Williams, Theodore (Jamie) Frank, Craig Frank; and her great grandchildren: Ryan Diggs, Madison Diggs, Brittany Diggs, Kaylee Mercer, Alia Mercer, Bethany Clay, Gwendolyn Clay, Jonathon Frank, Brian Frank, Hannah Frank, Alic Schuster, and Emlyn Schuster; step grandchildren: Brian (Diedra) Norenberg, Kevin Norenberg and Dr. Shannon (Matt) Kelleher; step great grandchildren: Adam and Emily Norenberg, Kyle and Nathan Norenberg and Christopher and Megan Kelleher. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert & Eva Schmidt; parents-in-law Vincent & Anna Schuster; son Steven Schuster; granddaughter Gwen Schuster; brothers: Carlton Schmidt, Milton Schmidt and Donald Schmidt; sisters: Marilyn Schmoldt and Myrtle Schmidt; brothers-in-law: Jim Schuster, Fredrick Schuster, Raymond Schmidt and Rueben Hoeft; sisters-in-law: Dorothea Hoeft, Marion Schuster and Gladys Schuster.
