Myrl E. Watters, age 89, of Beaver Dam, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at St. Luke”s South Shore Hospital in Cudahy.
Friends and family may call at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 127 W. Maple Avenue in Beaver Dam on Saturday, November 10, 2007 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at church on Saturday, beginning at 10:30 AM. Fr. Jerome Rinzel will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Patrick”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Myrl Esther Smith was born on October 2, 1918 in Randolph, Wisconsin to the late William and Esther (Rousseau) Smith. On November 23, 1940, she was united in marriage with Howard E. Watters in Randolph, Wisconsin. Myrl was a long-time member of the Fox Lake Golf Club and was also an avid bridge player. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and had been a member of the St. Patrick”s Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include two children, Alice (Ray) Grant of South Milwaukee and Jim (Char) Watters of Pewaukee, four grandchildren, Nate Watters of Chicago, Megan Watters of Chicago, Mike Watters of Madison, and Matt Watters of Racine, her brother, Jim Smith of Beaver Dam, her sister, Margaret (Sid) Cox of Watertown, two sisters-in-law, Doris Smith of Beaver Dam and Dolly Smith of Abilene, Texas, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Myrl was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, and three brothers, William, Leonard and Eugene Smith.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Mryl E. Watters” name to St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 131 W. Maple Avenue, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin 53916.
