Nancy J. Baney

Nancy Baney, age 70, of Hustisford, WI went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 4th, 2024, while at UW Hospital in Madison.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, January 27 from 1-4 p.m. at the Mayville American Legion Post #69 in Mayville.

Nancy was born the daughter of Calvin and Delores (Stark) Becker on September 2, 1953. She was a 1971 graduate of Hustisford High School. Nancy was united in marriage to Daniel Baney on September 26th, 1987, in Beaver Dam, WI, and they are now reunited in Heaven.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Abigail (Zachary) Kimmel of Trempealeau and ‘daughter’ Brae (Jerret Parker) Landess and their son’s Liam and Landon of Green Bay, siblings Bonnie Becker of Mayville, Stuart Becker of Iron Ridge, Karen (Don) Baney of Iron Ridge and Richard Becker of Iron Ridge, siblings in law Kathryn (Gregory) Keup. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Nancy was also preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel, and sister-in-law Cheri Becker.
Nancy devoted 46 years to working as a medical records clerk in long term care. Outside of this work, she was also the family caretaker – sharing her big heart and always selflessly caring and providing for others. Family meant everything to Nancy; even in her last days she was more concerned with the wellbeing of her loved ones than with her own. She was a well-loved member at St. John’s Church in Woodland and allowed the work of our heavenly father to shine through in her every action.

Nancy had a passion for gardening and baking. She spent her spare time tending to her many flower beds and fulfilling the duties of the family baker. Countless calories she shared – pies, cookies, and her famous tortes! During the holidays she would make dozens of pies and over 50 dozen cookies! She loved sharing her techniques and recipes with others, including any and all “in the fun and the labor of love” as she always said.

Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at UW Hospital for providing Nancy with loving care and comfort. We will always carry Nancy in our hearts, and she will be missed dearly by many. It may be traditional to conclude with ‘rest in peace’ but anyone who knew Nancy knows she isn’t resting up there, so….until we meet again, for a vodka gimlet!
