Norma J. Banes

Norma J. Banes, 85, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Dycora Transitional Health & Living. A visitation for Norma will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Frieden’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Randolph. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Schumann officiating. Burial will take place at Randolph Cemetery. Norma was born the daughter of Amos and Myrna (Jenkins) Dobbratz in Beaver Dam. She was a graduate of Randolph High School. On August 15, 1952 she was united in marriage with John R. “Jack” Banes at Frieden’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Randolph. Norma was a longtime member of Frieden’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Randolph where she also served as a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed bowling, flower gardening, and she loved to collect angels. She is survived by her son; Roger (Sandi) Banes of Beaver Dam, daughter; Brenda (Steve) Coles of Carrabelle, FL, 1 sister Lolita (Al) Syens, 3 brothers; Dave (Bev) Dobbratz, John (Winifred “Winkie”) Dobbratz, Eugene (Elaine) Dobbratz, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, in-laws, 3 sisters, 1 step-brother, and 1 infant great granddaughter. If desired, memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
