Orland J. Erickson, age 87, of Reeseville, died on Thursday, January 10, 2008.
Visitation will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville on Sunday, January 13, 2008 from 3 PM to 5 PM. Visitation will also be at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, N2296, CTH “I”, Reeseville, on Monday, January 14, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at church on Monday beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Matthew Martin officiating.
Orland was born on July 8, 1920 in Ontario, Wisconsin to the late Albin and Myrtle (Samuelson) Erickson. He married Shirley Thornsen in Kendall, Wisconsin on January 16, 1943. Orland served in the United States Army Signal Corps in the South Pacific during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He worked for many years as an electrician in the Milwaukee and Waukesha areas and later became the electrical inspector for the Town of Pewaukee. In 1987, he and Shirley moved to Reeseville where Orland was a member of the Reeseville American Legion Post #190 and a Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Erickson of Reeseville, three children, Linda (Rick) Breidenbach of Burlington, Leland (Isolde Schmitt) Erickson of Cedarcrest, New Mexico and Verne (Peggy) Erickson of Oconomowoc, five grandchildren, Abby Erickson, Austin Erickson, Greg Breidenbach, Rob Breidenbach and Allan (Stefani) Breidenbach, two great grandchildren, Jackson and Nolan Breidenbach, and two sisters, Arlene Hesse of Glendale, CA and Shirley Ann Trzcinko of West Covina, CA. Orland was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Marian Erickson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in Orland”s name to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church or the Reeseville Fire Department First Responders.
