Otto Manthey Jr., age 99 of Mayville, WI passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Hope Health & Rehabilitation Center, Lomira, WIA funeral service for Otto will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Kekoskee, WI, with Rev. Dennis Bratz officiating. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 26 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Kekoskee. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Mayville, WI where graveside military rites will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69.Otto was born on March 6, 1915 to Otto and Rose (Bauer) Manthey Sr. in Mayville, Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to Junette Zimmel on October 8, 1949 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Kekoskee, WI. He was employed at the Mayville Shoe Factory, Mayville Canning Co. and retired from the City of Mayville Street Department. He was a member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Kekoskee. Otto was also a WW II veteran serving in the U.S. Army, also a member of the Mayville V.F.W. Post # 10170. In his spare time Otto enjoyed gardening, his cats, fishing the Packers and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.Otto is survived by, his wife Junette. his children Debra Manthey of Stevens Point, Sheila (Darwin) Steger of Mayville, Scott (Sandy) Manthey of Mayville His grandchildren- Tonya & Cody Manthey. His sister-in-laws Bernice Lifke of Beaver Dam & Carol Stankiewicz of Milwaukee also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He is preceded in death by- his parents, and sisters and brothers.
