Paul “Butch” A. Jakel

Paul A. “Butch” Jakel, 87, of Tomahawk and formerly of Reeseville passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Prairie Ridge Hospital in Columbus.

Paul Anthony was born on April 2, 1939 in Milwaukee to Joe and Fran (Goldbach) Jakel. He was married to Alyce Brueckner on January 2, 1960 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clyman. Butch served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He along with his brothers owned and operated the Jakel Company in Reeseville. After retirement, Butch and Alyce moved to Tomahawk, WI to their home on the lake and for a number of years traveled to their second home in Leesburg, FL for the winters.

Butch was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Reeseville. He loved to hunt, fish, golf, and enjoy the occasional Manhattan. Butch enjoyed woodworking and was known to keep an immaculate lawn.

Butch is survived by his sons: David (Audrey) Jakel of Columbus and Joseph (Kathryn) Jakel of Oconomowoc; grandchildren: Holly (Andy) Schuster, Brianna (fiancé Ryan) Jakel, and Mary (Travis) Firari; great grandchildren: Lillian, Alana, Addie, Jayce, Roman, and Dylan; his brother Ron “Jake” (Joanne) Jakel of Beaver Dam; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alyce in 2017; daughter Jill Jakel; grandson Jesse Jakel; and his brother “Peanuts” Jakel.

A visitation will be held at the Reeseville Community Center on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Nick Dhein will officiate. Interment will take place at Reeseville Cemetery.
