Paul Martin Miller
Fox Lake – Paul Martin Miller, 62, of Fox Lake and formerly of Winneconne, passed away on September 4, 2006 at Mercy Medical Hospital in Oshkosh, WI. He died after a valiant struggle with cancer and all of its complications.
Paul was born on November 14, 1943 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania to Clarence Elmer Miller and Naomi Alice Gibson Miller. Paul graduated from High School at Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan. Upon completion of his military duty he graduated from a California college with a degree in economics. He later went on to acquire two Masters Degrees from the University of Wisconsin, one being a Master Of Science in Education Guidance.
Paul served as a Wisconsin Veteran Counselor to Vietnam veterans. He later worked for the Parks Department of Winnebago County for over 20 years.
Paul”s love in life was his motorcycles. He was an avid rider and appreciated every beautiful day he could go for a ride. In 2002, he took the ride of a lifetime in Europe, taking in the German Alps, Switzerland, and Italy. Paul also enjoyed hiking in the woods, observing the changes of all the seasons and taking the time to “smell the roses.” He particularly enjoyed all the birds at his home on Fox Lake and watched with anticipation for the many migrating species of birds and ducks in the spring and fall. He loved watching a good storm approach while enjoying the sound of the rain. The New Yorker magazine was a favorite read of his along with excellently written books.
Paul is survived by his sister Carol Yeager of Nescopeck, PA, niece Erin Espelie of New York City, brother-in-law Carl Espelie of Athens, GA, companion Julie Flemming of Fox Lake and the special families of Cinnamon, Robert, Kaileen and Ryan Mayoh of Beaver Dam, WI. plus Penny, Aaron and Lilly Nichols of Marinette, WI. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lois Miller-Espelie.
Cremation of the body will take place with a Memorial Service planned for September 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
