Paul G. Lehman

October 16, 1943 - June 21, 2025

Paul G. Lehman, 81, of Mayville, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at his home.

Paul was born in Fond du Lac, on October 16, 1943, the son of Gilbert and Ruth (Wolfschmitt) Lehman. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, in Mayville, and Mayville High School. In 1961, Paul volunteered to serve in the United States Army. He was stationed in Bad Kreutznach, Germany for over two years. Other than during his military service, Paul lived his entire life in Mayville.

In 1965, Paul married Carol Rosin, in Mayville. They had three children, Susan, Sarah, and Michael. In 1987, Paul married Patricia “Pat” (Shabunia) Jones, in Juneau. Pat preceded Paul in death in 1992.

Paul was employed at Mayville Engineering Company (MEC) for 13 years, Micro Design in Hartford as a model maker for 15 years, and at RuMar Manufacturing in Mayville as an estimator from 1992 until his retirement.

Paul had a keen interest in aviation and obtained his private pilot’s license in 1991. Paul also enjoyed volunteering his time and served on the boards at local museums, including the Mayville Limestone School Museum, Mayville Historical Society, and Kekoskee/Williamstown Historical Society.

Paul is survived by his children: Susan (Phil) Lomas of DeForest, Sarah Kedley of Horicon, and Michael Lehman of Mayville; bonus daughter Maria (Jason) Smith; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two step-daughters, Mary and Danielle; step-grandchildren; one sister, Anne (Donald) Bauer of Mayville, and other family and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia Lehman, his brother and sister-in-law William (Gloria) Lehman.

It was Paul’s wish that no formal funeral services be held. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.

Dear Carol, Ann and families you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sad for everyone left behind, but happy for Paul that he is in a place now with nothing but peace and happiness. I have great memories of time spent with Paul and Carol, especially horseback riding and a drive in movie. I love you all. Mary

I am a cashier at Piggly for 20 years. Paul was a regular customer. The first thing I remember about him was always buying jalapeño peppers for his birds. I had never known that birds would love jalapeños. So it became a regular thing for me to look forward to checking out jalapeños and other produce that his birds were going to eat. I enjoyed hearing about his birds. I got to point him out to my children when he was out walking with one of his kids on his shoulder. They thought that was neat. I will miss the bird updates and checking out their produce.

I enjoyed working with Paul during my short tenure at RuMar. His warm, friendly personality gave me comfort in a new environment. I'd lost contact with him since leaving Mayville in 2001 but thought of him often. My condolences to those who mourn his passing.
