Paul Herman Qualmann, age 93, of Fond du Lac (formerly of Mayville), passed away and joined his Lord in Heaven on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation in Fond du Lac.
Funeral Services for Paul will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville with Rev. Allen Bramstadt officiating. A visitation for Paul will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, graveside military honors will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69 at Graceland Cemetery in Mayville.
Paul was born the son of Paul and Hilda (Ewert) Qualmann on October 27, 1932, on the family farm in Horicon. He graduated from Mayville High School. Paul honorably served his country in the United States Army. On February 15, 1975, Paul was united in marriage to Barbara Collins at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville. Together the two successfully owned Lake Aire Supper Club in Fond du Lac.
Paul was a faithful member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church in North Fond du Lac. His strong and unwavering faith carried him throughout his life and into death; never once doubting the promise of eternal life.
Paul was a farmer at heart and loved being outside and taking in the beautiful weather. He developed his love for the land early on, growing up and helping on the farm. Paul enjoyed gardening and took great pride in everything he did.
Paul was a sport’s fanatic and found great entertainment in watching the Wisconsin Sport’s teams. He especially loved baseball.
Paul is survived by his daughters: Susan (Daniel) Pelkey, Patricia (Larry) Loest, and Catherine (Girum) Mistir; grandchildren: Ashley Pelkey (Shawn Lee), Lara Loest, Alyssa (Ronald) Franklin, Tyler Loest, and Caleb Mistir; step-grandchildren: Danielle (Buddy) Jensen and Joshua Pelkey; great-grandchildren: Trinity Gallagher, Jace Lee and Rosalynn Franklin; and one great-great-granddaughter on the way, Viella; his brother James (Dianne) Qualmann; sister-in-law: Marilyn McCarthy; and brother-in-law: Daniel Dixon. Paul is dearly missed and further survived by his step-great grandchildren, step great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Barbara in 2019; his brother Glenn (Donna) Qualmann; brother-in-law Richard “Dick” McCarthy; and sister-in-law Carol Dixon.
