Paul L Weigand

Paul L. Weigand, age 67, of Mayville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2024, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with his loving family by his side.

Funeral Services for Paul will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Dr. Mark G. Cutler officiating. A visitation for Paul will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville and again on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.

Paul was born the son of Lee and Lillian (Neitzel) Weigand on January 17, 1957, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1975 and went on to attend Moraine Park Technical College. Paul was united in marriage to Alanna Halfmann on September 21, 1991, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville where he also was a member.
Paul worked for many years at Mayville Metal and retired from John Deere.

Paul enjoyed tinkering on all sorts of projects throughout his years. Between projects for his daughters at school to constructing different trains and buildings for M.L.E.S. in Jackson, Paul always had a project (or two, or twenty) he was working on. He always had a smile on his face and was happy to share his woodworking and metal talents to bring a smile to someone else’s. Most recently, he enjoyed being able to spend time with his three grandchildren, babysitting whenever needed, and spoiling them as often as possible, especially when able to teach them different aspects of woodworking and metalworking safely.

Paul is survived by his wife Alanna; his children: Nikita (Ed) Cook and Julie Weigand; grandchildren: Kason, Keaton, and Kymberlee; siblings: Dean (Verna) Weigand, Martha (Gary) Girdaukas, Jerry Weigand, Jon Weigand, Virginia (Lloyd) LaCharite, Robert Weigand, and Nancy (Jeremy) LaFore. Paul is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Glenn Weigand.
