Pearl M. Christian, 77, of 1735 Dayton St., Apt. #3, Mayville, passed onto eternal life on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at her home.
Funeral services for Pearl will be on Sunday, March 15 at 3:00 p.m. from St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 15 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville. Rev. James Mallmann and Rev. Matthew Shive will officiate. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Mayville.
Pearl was born on December 24, 1931, the daughter of Fred and Adeline (Wickert) Puestow, in Hartford. She was united in marriage to Raymond Backhaus from 1950- 1952. She was united in marriage to Melvin Christian on June 25, 1955 in West Bend.
She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. She was also a member of St. John Dorcas Society and past president of St. John PTL. She was a member of the Mayville Fireside Campers, the Mayville Senior Board, and the Mayville Senior Center.
Pearl was employed at Metalcraft and Cenex, where she did clerical work. She was also employed in the deli at Foodlane.
Survivors include her children, Bruce (Beverly) Christian of Mayville, Karen (Jerold) Schraufnagel of Mayville,Brenda (special friend Dan Netzer) Christian of Oak Grove, and Lisa Christian of Waupun;
7 grandchildren- Brian, Mike, Angela, Jason, Steve, Denise, & Daniel; 2 great grandchildren- Quentin & Cody; Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband Raymond in 1952, 2nd husband Melvin in 1991, and 1 sister.
