Perry Lee Billings, age 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on March 30,2026 in Horicon, Wisconsin.
Born on March 18,1946, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Perry lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.
He grew up on the family homestead outside of Theresa, WI and eventually returned there prior to moving to Marvin’s Manor in Horicon.
A proud graduate of Mayville High School’s Class of 1964, Perry dedicated over 35 years of his professional life to Maysteel. Known for his strong work ethic and quiet demeanor, he was a man who led by example—never seeking the spotlight but always present when needed.
Perry was deeply committed to his community and church. A lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, he served faithfully as a Church Trustee, Elder, and member of the School Board. He also took great pride in maintaining both the church and school grounds. Whether it was cutting grass at the local cemetery or helping with building upkeep, Perry gave generously of his time and talents.
He found joy in simple pleasures: tending to his garden with admiration, listening to polka music, playing cards with friends and family, and enjoying evenings at the kitchen table with a good cigar or pipe while reading the newspaper.
An avid outdoorsman, Perry trapped muskrats in his younger years and remained a passionate deer hunter throughout his life. He also enjoyed recreational sports—playing softball in the Over-30 League and competing in the church dartball league. As a member of the Theresa Pioneers Snowmobile Club, he embraced Wisconsin winters with enthusiasm.
Perry had a special place in his heart for children—especially his own. He always made time for them despite long workdays. He ensured they were up on Sunday mornings and ready for church—a tradition he held dear. One of his favorite sayings to rally them out the door was “Busses are loading.” True to his word and generous spirit, if they helped local farmers with chores like milking cows before school, he would drive them himself so they could avoid taking the bus.
He is lovingly remembered by Richard (Lisa) Billings, Richelle Feucht, Rondell Billings, Richerra (Kirk) Auchue, Racquel Billings, Ryan (Kristin) Billings, Rustin (Dawn) Billings, Rijeana (John) Hatch, Robin (Ashley) Billings and their mother Susanne Giese. Perry was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.
He is also survived by his sister Sandra (Keith) Buss and their family as well as many other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and quiet strength.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents Leander and Vinelda Billings; stepfather Erwin Feller; and wife Diane Billings.
His legacy is one of steadfast devotion—to faith, family, community—and an enduring reminder that love is often shown through action more than words. As he often said when parting ways: “Love you. Stop in sometime.”
The family extends a special Thank you to the Staff at Marvin’s Manor of Horicon as well as Generations Hospice of Fond du Lac for their continued care and the love they showed to Perry.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A funeral service for Perry will take place on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon with Rev.
