Peter A. Danen

Peter “Pete” Danen, died peacefully at home on Thursday, Feb.6, 2025 after a long struggle with health issues.  Peter was born on September 22, 1961 in Green Bay, WI to Dorothy (Joly) and Paul Danen.  Peter was raised at the St. Coletta Children’s Home in Jefferson County, WI.  It was there that Pete met Phyliss Heringa, who eventually became his foster mom.  Peter lived with the Heringa family until his foster mother died in 2002.  Peter then went to live at Bridges of Wisconsin, an adult group home, where he formed many close friendships.   Carrie Profitt became Peter’s guardian at that time.  Carrie and Peter had a very close relationship; they attended church together, traveled to Orlando and Memphis, enjoyed activities through the Dodge Co. ARC and Special Olympics, and loved singing together while driving in the car.

Peter was proud to be employed with Green Valley Enterprises in Beaver Dam, WI where he will be greatly missed by his friends and co-workers.  He is survived by his guardian and closest confidant, Carrie Profitt; good friend and roommate Scott Grant;  his siblings, Mike Danen, Kay Hendricks, Dan (Betty) Danen, and Tim Danen; sister-in-law Linda Danen; as well as other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his foster brother Robbie Rubin, his foster parents, brothers Pat and Mark Danen and in-laws Linda and Debbie Danen and Joe Hendricks.

A visitation will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m.  Internment will take place at the Rosendale Cemetery.

Special thank you to Individual Care Services, especially Pat, Tracy, and Kadie who gave Peter unconditional support through his journey and to help keep Pete in his home during his hard days. Also, thank you for the amazing support Pete received from Common Heart Hospice. They are truly wonderful people.
