Peter McBride Ware Sr.

Peter McBride Ware, Sr., 77, of Fox Lake passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

Pete was born on January 30, 1948 in Milwaukee to Warren H. and Mary Jean (McBride) Ware. He was a 1972 graduate of Montana State University in Bozeman, MT.  Pete was married to Virginia Chuhay on January 21, 1978 in Cleveland, OH.  Pete was employed as a painter for Marquette University in Milwaukee until his retirement.

Pete was a confident and self-assured man, highly motivated, and always reflective. He kept himself busy with projects, loved watching westerns and listening to country music. Pete enjoyed spending his time at the lake with his family who were his priority, and he deeply loved them.  He was very involved with his family and friends and was always present for their activities.

Pete is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” of Fox Lake; three sons: Peter Ware, Jr. of Green Bay, Christopher Ware of Milwaukee, and Andrew (Kara) Ware of Clarksville, TN; three grandchildren: Peter “Mac” Ware III, Julia Ware, and Valentina Ware; his siblings: Kate (Leon) Anderson of Yellow Springs, OH, Sally Thompson of Flagler Beach, FL, and Mary Beth (Greg) Leifer of Palm Coast, FL; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Ware; and brother, Michael Ware.

A memorial gathering will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church in Fox Lake on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Fr. Will Arnold officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
