Raymond Leon Schweiger, age 88, died Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Charleston House in Beaver Dam, WI.
Visitation for Ray will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam, WI on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Troy Schweiger celebrating. Fr. John Sullivan, homilist, Fr. Will Arnold, and other priest will concelebrate. Inurnment will be at St. Peter Cemetery in Beaver Dam, WI on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
Raymond Leon Schweiger was born on May 13, 1937, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Gilbert and Clara (nee Hankes) Schweiger. Ray attended St. Peter Grade School and then St. Mary High School in Kenosha. He graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard for almost six years. Ray served as Chief Financial Officer, first at Doctors Hospital in Milwaukee, then Beloit Memorial Hospital, and finally at Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Upon his retirement in 1999, he began extensive travels throughout the United States and then settled in Pensacola, Florida. Ray moved back to Beaver Dam in 2020.
Survivors include his six children, Renee of Ava, MO, Cheryl (Steve Halverson) of McFarland, Randal (Emma) of Janesville, Anthony of Pensacola, FL, Fr. Troy of Lincoln, NE, and Daryl of San Jose, CA; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; eight siblings, Mary Ann Schwantes of Beaver Dam, Betty Kledehn of CO, James of SC, Donna Keller of NC, Judy (David) Berg of Beaver Dam, Donald (Marge) of Beaver Dam, Charles (Jill) of Sussex, and Michael (Mary) of FL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David; and a sister, Catherine Budde.
