Raymond J. “Mickey” Lemey, Jr., age 77, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Beaver Dam Care Center. There will be no formal services.
Raymond was born on January 21, 1949, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Raymond and Dorothy (Goldbert) Lemey. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. His time in the Navy eventually brought him to a base in Milwaukee, and it was there that fate led him to a local hangout — and to a nice Wisconsin girl named Judith Wangerin. The two met, fell in love, and were united in marriage on May 8, 1971.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Ray continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he earned his degree as a medical technologist. He went on to work for many years as a laboratory technician at Quest Diagnostics before retiring in 2014.
Ray and Judy made their home in Beaver Dam, but he never forgot his New Jersey roots. He remained a loyal New York Giants fan and enjoyed keeping up with his favorite team.
Music was another important part of Ray’s life. He loved the rock and roll music of the 1950s and 1960s and enjoyed both playing and singing those songs. He shared his love of music as a member of his band, Reflections of Time.
Ray is survived by his wife, Judy of Beaver Dam; daughter, Stephanie Lemey of Schaumburg, IL; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joanne Banas.
