Richard Moritz, age 76, died Friday, March 28, 2008 at his home outside of Reeseville, Wisconsin.
Visitation for Richard will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville on Monday, March 31, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held at the Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Fr. Jerome Rinzel will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
Richard Perry Moritz was born on July 11, 1931 in Waukesha County, Wisconsin to the late Roderick and Mabel (Hansen) Moritz. On June 18, 1955, he was united in marriage with Doris A. Gromowski at St. Anthony”s Church in the Town of Delafield, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Richard served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart for injuries he sustained. He worked as a foreman at American Asphalt Company in Menomonee Falls for 33 years. Richard was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life; he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Richard loved his hounds and his horses and he also loved the peacocks he had at his home.
Survivors include his children, Christine (Andy) Jungbluth of Waterloo, Jim (Kathy) Moritz of rural Reeseville, Steve Moritz (Theresa Wagner) of Juneau and Greg Moritz of rural Reeseville, three grandchildren, Andrea, Chasity and Jennifer, two great grandchildren, Brydon and Cooper, two sisters and a brother, Audrey (Gus) Bartels, Janet (Tom) Millard, and Fred (Barb) Moritz, all of Pewaukee, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, and a brother, Roderick.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Richard P. Moritz”s name to the American Cancer Society.
