Richard Ruben Zahn, 87, 720 Meadow Lane, Mayville, died on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at his home.
Visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Lomira, with funeral services to follow. The Rev. Matthew Kuske will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, town of Lomira.
Richard was born on July 12, 1921, son of Theodore and Elsie (Dobberpuhl) Zahn in the town of Lomira. On July 21, 1945, he was united in marriage with Eva Ann Putsch at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Lomira.
Richard farmed in the town of Lomira on his family’s homestead; retired from Maysteel Corp., Mayville, and was employed at Gleisner’s Appliance in Mayville. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, and a member of the Maysteel Quarter Century Club.
Richard was a wonderful Christian father and grandfather, a humble servant of the lord.
Survivors include his children, Judi (Ron) Scott, Janesville, Janet (Richard) Koltz, Beaver Dam, Rev. Richard T. (Barb) Zahn, Fond du Lac, Wendy Zahn, Mayville, Randy (Kristin) Zahn, Plymouth; sisters-in-law Helen (Willis) Zuberbuehler, Kenosha, Esther Putsch, West Allis; grandchildren, Dan (Beckey ) Koltz, Dewey (Carol) Koltz, Nicole (Joe) Becker, Kayla (Scott) Ottmar, Justin Zahn, Ian Zahn, Jennifer Zahn, Krista Zahn, Zachary Zahn, Julia Zahn; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Caleb, Seth, Kyle, Kody, Maddie, Sydney; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2007; a sister, Ruth Acken.
