Ricky “Fred” T. Apel

Ricky T. “Fred” Apel, age 63, of Beaver Dam, died Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Clearview Health and Rehabilitation Center.

There will be a memorial gathering for Ricky at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Ricky Terrence Apel was born on March 14, 1961 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Terrence and Donna (Richter) Apel. On February 16, 1980, he was united in marriage with Sandra J. Klawitter in Beaver Dam. Ricky worked as a press operator through the years. He enjoyed watching the Brewers and the Packers and he was an avid race fan. Everyone who knew Ricky was aware of his love for music, especially 80’s rock. His greatest pleasure was grilling out and getting together with family and friends.

Survivors include wife, Sandy Apel of Beaver Dam; three children, Brian (Cassie) Apel of Beaver Dam, Steve Apel of Menasha, and Kelvin Apel of Beaver Dam; his granddaughter, Laylah; five siblings, Debbie Pelot of Beaver Dam, Todd (Jodi) Apel of Beaver Dam, Randy Apel of White Lake, Bonnie (Timothy) Oestreicher of Waupun, and Terry Apel of Portage; a close niece, Vanessa “Sess” Brown of Waupun; other relatives and friends. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents.
