Robert F. Arndorfer, age 83, of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, December 06, 2008 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Visitation for Bob will be at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 511 S. Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at church on Thursday, beginning at 11:00 AM. Fr. Jose Gonzalez will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Peter”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin where the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 in Beaver Dam will provide military honors.
Robert Frank Arndorfer was born on February 19, 1925 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late William and Alma (Zahn) Arndorfer. After graduation from Beaver Dam High School in 1942, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the 10th Armored Division during World War II. Bob fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was a decorated veteran having received three Battle Stars. After is military service, he returned to Beaver Dam and worked as a line type operator at Citizen Publishing Company until his retirement in 1974. He loved to play cribbage and was a skilled player. Bob was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and the Knights of Columbus Pope John XXIII Council #1837 in Beaver Dam.
Survivors include his brothers, Donald Arndorfer and Ralph (Doris) Arndorfer, both of Beaver Dam, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Paul Arndorfer, a niece, Cathy Zuhlke, and a sister-in-law, Delores Arndorfer
The family suggests that memorials be made in Robert Arndorfer”s name to St. Katharine Drexel Catholic School Endowment Fund.
