Beaver Dam, WI – Robert “Bucky” Behrmann, 80, passed away peacefully at home on January 2, 2024.
Robert was born on November 26, 1943, in Beaver Dam the son of Herman and Rose Behrmann. In 1962 Bucky proudly served in the U.S. Army. His military associations were a significant part of his life. Robert was a jack of all trades, inventor, and side hustler; but his real passion was truck driving and radio communication. He spent many years traveling and creating maps before becoming an over-the-road truck driver for 32 years. It was during this time that he earned the handle “Bucky Badger.” Bucky’s passion for inventing continued throughout his life, he had numerous brilliant ideas and was constantly seeking ways to improve things around things around him. He had a curious mind and loved exploring new places and ideas.
Bucky was a passionate, outgoing, a free spirit and a loving man. He had a zest for life and loved engaging in conversations with anyone he met. Bucky was known for his kindness and generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He had a deep love for his family and was committed to keeping them united and working as a team. Bucky worshipped at Trinity United Methodist Church. His faith was a source of strength and comfort to him.
Bucky is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Donna Behrmann, and their children, Todd Behrmann, Scott (Kelly) Behrmann, and Dawn (Ryan) Powers; sisters: Nancy Nigro, and Katherine Kadolph, brother Dick (Elaine) Behrmann; numerous grandchildren: Deanna, Anthony, Stefan, Darion (Erin), Tiffani (Bobbi) Tyler, Logan, Trey and Tabitha; great-grandchildren: Dante, Miles, Oliver, Alison, Zeppelin, Salem, and Elaine. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Hermann Behrmann, father and mother-in-law Kenneth and Lucille Crandall, brother Bill Behrmann, brothers-in-law: Alex Nigro, Lloyd Kadolph, Doug Crandall, Terry Crandall, sister-in-law Samantha Crandall, and his beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Kenneth, Breydan, and Hannah Powers.
A service to honor Bucky’s life will be held on January 10, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 308 Oneida St. in Beaver Dam, WI, with Rev. Eric Taylor officiating. Following the service Military Honors will be conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146, followed by a potluck meal in the lower level of the church. Any truckers that are able to honor his life with a few “toots” of their horns or “jakes” would be gladly welcomed at 4:45 PM.
Bob “Bucky” will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. His kindness, passion, and brilliant mind will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace.
