Robert J. Budde

Robert J. Budde, age 90, of Beaver Dam, died on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Hillside Manor. The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with the Rosary to follow. There will also be a visitation at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Friday with Fr. Mike Erwin officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Robert Joseph Budde was born on June 17, 1927 in Beaver Dam to Felix and Evelyn (Belling) Budde. He was drafted into the United States Navy on September 21, 1945 during WWII. Robert was then drafted into the United States Army on November 27, 1950 and proudly served as a tank commander during the Korean War. On July 28, 1951 He was united in marriage with Catherine Schweiger at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. He worked for over 30 years as a letter carrier for the Beaver Dam Post Office. Robert enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. He was a member of the American Legion and the Lowell VFW and was also a member of the Branch 944 National Association of Letter Carriers. Robert was a dedicated member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish. Survivors are his wife, Catherine of Beaver Dam; children, Karen (Terry) Shannon, Bruce (Deb), Brian (Mary Jo), Ann (John) Pasewald, Tim (Joan), Pat (Annette), John (Jennifer), and Jim (Rachel); 29 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother and sisters, Jean (Robert) Daniels, Sr. Mary Budde, Jack (Phyllis), Lynn Zick, and Christine (Christopher) Bauer. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Audrey (Joe) Hankes; and a brother-in-law, Wilt Zick. The family wishes to thank all of the caregivers at Hillside Manor for their loving care that was given to Robert. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family and will be distributed to several local charities. The Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is caring for the family.
