Robert N. Bussewitz, age 74, died on Monday, September 1, 2008, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Friends may gather on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The American Legion Post #190 will conduct military honors on Thursday at the funeral home at 7:00 PM. Friends may also gather on Friday, September 5, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Reeseville from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service for Robert will be held on Friday at the church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Donald Steinberg officiating. Cremation will follow.

Robert Neil Bussewitz was born on April 24, 1934 in Watertown, Wisconsin to Harley and Frieda (Ott) Bussewitz. On December 30, 1958 he was united in marriage with Berta Daniel in Munich, Germany. He proudly served in the US Army from 1958 until 1962 and was stationed in Germany. From 1965 to 1995, he was a partner with Norbert Schulz at Schulz Motors in Reeseville. Bob then owned and operated, with his daughter, Bob”s Amoco in Reeseville until he sold it in 2001. Robert was a member of the Reeseville American Legion Post #190 and was on the Dodgeland School Board for 15 years. He served 12 years as a trustee for the Village of Reeseville and was on the area chamber of commerce. Robert was on the Reeseville Fire Department for many years. Bob was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served on the church board in various positions. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by the many people that knew him.

Bob will be missed by his wife, Betty Bussewitz, Reeseville, his daughter, Candace Ann (James) Lauby, Marshall, granddaughter, Jennifer Lauby, Marshall, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, June Colburn.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Bob”s name to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Hillside Hospice.
