Dear Jean and family: My deepest sympathies to you on your loss. I have many fond memories of "Shooey", most of which revolve around golf. Whether I was caddying for Ron or playing with Ron, I always enjoyed his sense of humor and zest for life. What most impressed me about Ron was the fact that these terrific qualities persisted throughout his illness. Whenever I would visit Ron, he was the same old "Shooey". Hi Jeanie, so sorry to hear of Ron''s death. I know your family''s journey has been long and exhausting. I hope now you can begin to spend the time with your girls that you have missed out on since you began to care for Ron. Our family is doing well with Stefani planning a wedding for April of next year. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend the funeral today as my nephew is getting married tomorrow and I had volunteered to babysit one of the babies tonight during the rehearsal. Stef and I had talked that we would have liked to attend to see you and the girls. I didn''t spend a lot of time with Ron when Bill and I were married because he was in Arizona or in Germany during that time. But I always had a lot of respect for him and he was always great to Stef an I. It is so hard after a divorce, you never know exactly what your role is in the family anymore. I regret not keeping in touch with everyone more. Every time Stef and I would run into Grandpa Ron he only wanted to talk about Bill which was hard sometimes. Our condolences go out to Jean, Gabbie and Jordyn and the rest of Ron''s family on your loss. Ron was a terrific guy. It was great working with him and hanging out with him on the golf course, at The Greens, The Market and everywhere else during his time in Sparta. He taught me much about golf and life. He had a personality and a zest for life that was unmatched. I will forever treasure the Branding Iron putter that he custom made for me and all the memories I have of him and the good times we had together. There was never a dull moment with Ron. He was one-of-a-kind and I will always be grateful that I was lucky enough to cross paths with him in life.
