Ronald Paul Kanas, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville. A private family service will follow.
Ronald was born on July 29, 1941, to Clarence and Lucille (Polzin) Kanas. He was a devoted husband, stepfather, grandfather, and friend. He worked for many years at Maysteel as a welder before retiring, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and integrity.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and had a lifelong love of Wisconsin sports teams. Ronald will be remembered for his humor, kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Ronald is survived by his stepchildren: Lance Flejter (Monica), Lee Flejter (Dave Mayer), Christian Flejter (Steve Bonack), Dirk Flejter (Jessie), and Jason Flejter (Monique); stepdaughter-in- law, Nicky Capen; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by his siblings: Paulette (Ronald Feller), Cheryl (David Feller), Rosie Heintz (Jim Stipanovic), Judy (Brian Otto), Barb Keller, and Roger (Cheryl) Kanas, along with many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie; stepdaughter, Jamie Beth Flejter; his parents, Clarence Sr. and Lucille Kanas; and his siblings, Jerome Kanas (Mary), Terry Kanas, Clarence Kanas Jr., and brother-in-law Dan Keller.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him
