Rose M. McGuire

Rose Marie McGuire (née White) died peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.

A Celebration of Rose’s life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville.

Rose was born in Austin, Minnesota, and lived for many years in Minneapolis raising a rambunctious family with the love of her life, Charles (Chuck) Leonard McGuire. On his death in 2008, Rose moved briefly to Oberlin, Ohio, and then spent her remaining years in Wisconsin: first in Juneau, where she helped raise her Wisconsin grandchildren; then finally in Mayville.

Her life was devoted to raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren; reading mystery, science fiction, and fantasy novels; and gardening when she was still able. Those who knew Rose remember her easy laugh; her strong opinions; and her dedication to her friends, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her beloved but irascible cat, Molly.

She is survived by her brother, Ron White; her children and their partners: daughter Michelle (Shelly) Granneman and her husband Bill; her son Charles (Chuck) McGuire, and his wife Kira McGirr; her son Sean Patterson-McGuire and his wife Jane Patterson; her grandchildren Ian Burnham and his wife Caitlin Burnham; Heather Seifert and her husband Timothy Seifert Jr.; Tyler Krause and his wife Jessica Krause; Ollie Patterson-McGuire, Dan Patterson-McGuire, Elliot McGuire, and Theo McGuire; and her great grand-children, Timothy Seifert III, Michael Seifert, and Keelan Krause.
