Fall River – Ruth V. McDonald, age 71, peacefully passed at her home on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Ruth wasn’t one to give up easily. She was a three-time cancer fighter but after a courageous two and a half year battle with breast cancer, ultimately she couldn’t fight anymore and was sadly taken away from us.
There will be a memorial gathering at Chapel of the Arch Angels in Beaver Dam on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at Fall River Cemetery.
Ruth Violet was born on April 27, 1953, in Columbus, Wisconsin to Reuben and Elsie (Bartlett) Schade. After graduating from Fall River High School, she worked at several places through the years. Through her many adventures, she met a lot of people and made many life-long friendships through her life and employment. Her passion was her family, gardening, crocheting, sewing, and also greatly enjoyed doing her craft fairs with her sister Julie and friend Nettie Powers. She had a good sense of humor and was a hard-working woman. She was a caring person and was always there to help friends and family in need. She was so loved by many and her family was a huge part of her life. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her; but to her daughter and five grandchildren, she was the best mother and grandmother they could ever ask for.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie (Corey) Schoeffling of Fall River; four granddaughters, Bailey Schweitzer, Lyndsy Morales (Javier Martinez), Karyanna Morales, and Kaitlyn Morales (Alex Markvart); a sister, Julia Lince; a brother William (Cindy) Schade; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Schade and Carol Schade; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Christine; a grandson, Nicholas Schweitzer; two brothers, Willard Schade and Joseph Schade; brother-in-law Gary Lince; a sister-in-law, Theresa Schade; and two nephews, Justin Schade and Glenn Gehrke.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Heidi and Krissy from Agrace Hospice for the love and exceptional care they provided to Ruth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
