Sandra H. Columbus

Sandra Harrison Columbus, age 57, died peacefully in Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from reoccurring cervical cancer which began in 2008. Sandra was a loving, generous, caring, sweet wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, co-worker, neighbor and friend to so many. She will forever be remembered for her amazing uplifting positive spirit and a great sense of humor – in a word she was “Spec-tac-culas”. Sandra’s favorite saying when asked how she was doing was “I am wonderful beyond belief” and she meant it. There was nothing more important and no where she would rather be than with family. Family and friends were her nucleus. Sandra also enjoyed traveling, gardening, and reading. She had many funny faces she often shared in good humor. Also, Sandra worked as a Director of Conventions and Seminars and an Administrative Assistant for MetaStar, WI Homecare Organization, State Medical Society, and Columbus School District.Sandra is survived by her husband, Lee of 30 years; three children, Lukes (Elizabeth) Denny of Columbus, Brandon Columbus of Doylestown, and step son Lee Michael Schultz of Elk River, MN. Sandra is also survived by her two adorable, love of her life grandchildren Jordan & Eliana Denny, as well as six of her siblings, Brad (Betty) Harrison of Minong, Debra King of Maryland Heights, MO, Kim (Herb) Warren of Dane, Susan D. Harrison (Dave Tollefson) of Middleton, Brent Harrison of Champaign, IL, Bart (Claire) Harrison of Verona. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Farres and Emmy Lou (Baumgarten) Harrison; in-law’s Donald and Mary Columbus; grandparents and brother-in-law, Jack Stanley. Visitation will be held at Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home, 146 South Dickason Blvd, Columbus, WI from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015 and also on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Columbus United Methodist Church. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Columbus United Methodist Church. Please note during the funeral there will be an opportunity to share stories and memories. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus.In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to The Foundation for Woman’s Cancer, Agrace HospiceCare or The Road Home Dane County. “Those we love do not go away, they walk beside us every day.
