Sandra K. Martin

Sandra K. Martin, age 86, of Horicon, passed away at her home on Friday, August 28, 2026.

Sandra’s burial will take place at a later date in Iowa.

Sandra was born on April 16, 1940, to Dale and Mildred (Degelau) Blonigan. She graduated from Waterloo East High school in 1958.

Sandra married the love of her life, Kenneth Martin, on December 24, 1960. Sandra and Kenneth greatly enjoyed traveling internationally. They had the opportunity to experience many beautiful and scenic locations across the globe.

Sandra had a kind and loving heart and loved her family dearly. After her husband passed, she moved to Wisconsin to be closer to them. She dearly loved her new home and frequently spoke it was the perfect home for her.

When decorating her home in Wisconsin, she made sure that it reflected her love for the color pink. She was so excited to pick pink countertops for both of her bathrooms. It was a perfect expression of her fun and unique personality.

Christmas was Sandra’s favorite time of year; often keeping up decorations all year round. She loved decorating for the holidays and creating a warm and festive home for her family to enjoy. The magic of Christmas brought her great happiness, and the memories of those beautifully decorated holidays will always remain with her loved ones.

Sandra is survived by her son, Scott (Heidi) Martin; her grandson, Caleb Martin (Justice); her siblings: Judy Gray, Bonnie Buhrow, and Jim (Susan) Blonigan, sisters- in-law Karin Blonigan and Wanda Martin. She is further survived by other dear relatives and friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ken; her grandson Jacob Martin; brother Gary Blonigan; and brothers-in-law: Tom Gray and Bruce Buhrow; niece Scarlett Stephens.
