Scott J. Sammon, age 55, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
Scott was born on March 7, 1970, in Owatonna, MN, to James and Anita (Nurre) Sammon. In 1972, the family moved to Beaver Dam, WI. He spent his childhood actively involved in Boy Scouts and 4-H and enjoyed playing baseball, golf and hockey. He also loved to water ski. From an early age, he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors that stayed with him throughout his life. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, boating and snowmobiling, and found peace and purpose in nature.
After graduating from Beaver Dam High School, he attended UW Oshkosh for a bit, but soon became restless. He tried several business ventures over the years (he knew everything there was to know about Filter Queen vacuum cleaners), but eventually gave in to his passion for the outdoors. He owned and operated Scott’s Lawncare and Snow Removal for many years, taking pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way. Also, a fairly new rental venture was just beginning to take shape. He had a special love for plants and trees, as well as a deep love for animals. He rarely traveled far from home so that he could take care of his business and care for and comfort his pets. May there be green grass, shady trees and friendly animals where he is now.
Scott treasured time spent with his family, where laughter was shared and a good game of “Dirty Clubs” was often part of the fun. (He usually won.) In the summer, he enjoyed lawn darts, croquet, cornhole, ladder golf & other outdoor games. He loved the holidays, especially “Thanksmas” and looked forward to taking home the leftovers. He was also very good with mechanical things and loved anything with a motor, and like his Dad, loved anything “John Deere”. He spent many hours in his Dad’s garage, “fixing” or just tinkering with his tractors and other equipment.
Scott is survived by his parents, Jim and Anita Sammon of Beaver Dam; his sister, Shelly Rose of Madison; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his faithful and devoted dogs, Buddy and the new puppy.
Per his wishes, no formal service is planned.
