Shirley Ann was born on April 25, 1931 in Waupun, Wisconsin to John and Lillian (Gerretson) Van Hierden. After graduating from Waupun High School, she was united in marriage with James Rollins on August 23, 1952 at First Reformed Church in Waupun. Shirley worked for 40 plus years at Staehling Brothers Print Shop in Waupun, taking care of all the clerical needs. When she was blessed with two grandchildren, Shirley decided that it was best to retire from the printing industry, and spent her retirement watching her grandkids. She even volunteered much of her time at Lincoln Elementary School helping out where ever needed. Shirley would often take clippings from the local newspapers of those she knew, and would send them in Christmas, birthday, or just because cards. She was a long-time member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Jim Rollins of Beaver Dam; son, Jeff (Lori) Rollins of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Dan (Maddie) Rollins of Lake Mills and Sara (Zach) Reuter of Madison; great grandchildren, Lily, Payton, and baby R; grand dogs, Olivia and Kevin; sisters, Joan Pribnow of Burnett and Linda (Ron) Harmsen of Waupun; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Van Hierden, Jr.; infant sister, Nancy; and infant brother, Harry.
Jeff would like to thank his dad, Dr. Amy Muchow, all the staff at the care center, and St. Croix Hospice for all of their care these past few years of mom’s life.
