Hey Jen, Your mom was just like my Mom. They were all about family. She came to all of our concerts; so supportive. May she rest in peace...Jeff H.
May you cherish the precious memories of your sweet, talented, loving, and giving mother. A donation to Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre has been made as a tribute to Shirley Buxton.
Tim, Kevin, Jennifer, Cynthia, & Eric:
We are saddened by your Mom's passing.
We have nothing but great memories of her, your Dad, and all of you and your families.
Becky and I greatly appreciated it many years ago when she let us come up to Madison and use their Badgers football tickets to go to a couple of football games vs. the Hawkeyes, including Coach Barry Alvarez' last home game.
Aunt Shirley also made it a point to try to come to Iowa City for frequent visits, to see our Mom and George Vest, and we enjoyed those visits. I know that those visits were only made possible by family efforts of Eric, Julie, and others.
We are keeping you and your families in our thoughts this weekend.
Love,
Jim and Becky Buxton
Dear Buxton Family- So sorry for the death of your precious Mom/ Grandma. She was always friendly and personable to me…. mostly through BDAO! I considered her an anchor of the group. As a violinist, I’d look back there before every concert and she was just THERE. Ready to go… being the classy matron of the group!
I was always fascinated by your family. So much talent and broad minded.
Great memories you all have. Carry on making the world a better place.
Warmest Regards, Laurie Eisenga
A full, rich, and admirably well-lived life. My friend, her beautiful and talented daughter, Jennifer, follows in her mother's footsteps. My love and condolences to all of Shirley's family and many friends.
RIP this beautiful, sincere, energetic friend I knew in the AAUW chapter BD...helping the movement for all women/young girls to achieve.
Such sad news to hear of Mrs. Buxton’s recent passing. She was a special lady in so many ways, to many people. I always looked forward to visiting her when I was in Beaver Dam. I knew the Buxton family all my life as members of the Trinity Methodist Church and have fond memories of performing in the Church Choir with Shirley playing timpani in the orchestra for the holiday concerts. I’m so thankful for her kindness, humor and genuine zest for life that she shared with us. My prayers go out to the Buxton family at this challenging time.
Dear family and friends of Shirley, I was blessed to meet Shirley while being one of her caregivers through Home Instead. Shirley and I would travel to Columbus to view the trains and Amtrak, one of her loves. Spent many wonderful hours exchanging stories of life and her many things she loved. Will miss that time but, she was blessed with a wonderful life.
